A lot of the small issues that were really affecting gameplay were taken away, so players were free to concentrate on the main enjoyment factor.
However, quite a few different common issues were fixed during the 1.12.2 update, and made the game very playable again. The way that people are going to implement different modifications and updates into the system meant that the game was constantly evolving and growing, and these small glitches that were really quite insignificant in the grand scheme of things did nothing but distract players from the game.
